Leo & Daddy
I just had to post this picture because its to cute!! These are my boys Eric (daddy) & Leo (son). We had to cut Leos hair because he got head lice from his cousins. One of them things we dont normally get because we home school. However his Birthday Party brought these little nasty bugs. We got rid of them now though. He hates his hair and I love it! Uhhh ohhh lol
Leo took his 1st spelling test and learned his first 4 words
Leo took his first spelling test today. His words were “at, cat, sat, cot”, he got them all right!!! I’m so Proud of my Big Boy!!! I love you Leo Keep up the Great Work!!!!
Learning to read………………..
We are now working on Learning to read and this will be fun. He loves doing the work sometimes and I hope over the next 20 lessons he can get it down. I’m going to be working one lesson per week, unless he gets it faster than normal, then I’ll change it. We are starting here ReadingLessons.com I have saved the PDF Files and printed the first couple lessons. I ran out of paper ugh……………. We shall get some though or I’ll use loose leaf paper lol :)~ compromise.
Do you home school your children?
We home school our son, we do this using many options available to us. No I’m not a graduate I may not be perfect in grammar. However, the internet opens a wide amount of available options from real person teaching to pre-made work and things I have made (interactive and non). Our son he is very smart, this is his second year of actually learning his basics of pre-k and k. He also has a noted learning disability so we take a different approach on things. When he’s tired of doing the work or appears bored we stop. I will sometimes try several times a day, then other days once and that is it. Just depends on how our boy is feeling or acting that day.
When it comes to his ABC’s, he really has a hard time remembering them. His numbers are a different story, he is very smart and remembers them. He can add, subtract, count to 100+, he can count by 10’s to 10,000. I was flabbergasted when I heard him do this, I didn’t teach him that high (10,000) but he could do it. He makes me smile and very proud. He had a hard beginning being born 2 months early at 30 weeks, weighing in at a whole 3lbs 10oz, my little miracle!! I knew while I was pregnant I wouldn’t ever put him in public schools! I just couldn’t do it, how could I subject him to that, knowing how horrible my public schooling experiences were (not to mention Detroit Public Schools Teaches you NOTHING, even the teachers lied on students there).
